I bend into the possibility of moving beyond opposites. Yes, this right here is Warrior 1. Namaste.

This made me think of the “peaceful warrior” concept, seemingly at odds just like when I was taught in yoga camp to feel my feet digging deep into the earth while my head is being pulled to the moon from a string, to keep my posture straight, but stay relaxed. These things seem opposite and impossible…until we get it, and realize the opposite was an illusion, a limited perspective.

I absolutely love this! What a wonderfully creative way of lovingly holding your inner critic and past/future self. I'm going to a quote a line from this poem and include it in my next post (I've been planning to write about taking up space and yoga poses that are good for that). Oh, and I keep forgetting your not a yoga teacher...but you are! You have enough intimacy and awareness of poses and you ARE teaching us true yoga with your poems. So beautiful.

I finally have space and time to catch up on your poetry! I’m so glad I started here. There are so many gems: right foot future, left foot past…reaching to grab swords…one big womb…never to turn against me again. Thank you for your vulnerability here. It’s the hardest thing to not only witness that hurt self but to embrace her with love.

every morning, “I am the one saying yes.” 🙌🏻. I have trouble with the meaning of warrior….What am I fighting? What is there to fight? If it’s all me? What am I resisting..what am I not seeing..oh please God..give me the might..to see clearly..the me that I fight..to embrace all of it..the good bad and ugly..as me.. and to that..unity..granted..peace.💖

Thank you for sharing your beautiful and heartfelt prayer. May we see ourselves more clearly as the lovable beings we are. You bring up a good point... what is our definition of fighting? Is it a sword? Or is it courage to be in truth?
