Yes yes! Why I ever thought I was anything with the daughter of wind- are you kidding me? This is everything for me. And about trusting yourself and not calling those falls failures. This is just perfection.

Go ahead, fly. Chefs kiss. I have chills. This is so so good.

Thank you so much. This one came after a week of grappling with this poem and this pose. And for my first few takes when recording this, I had to stop and cry. Thank you so much for hearing this poem and receiving it.

I love this, Corie. As one who has done this posture so many times (ha ha! and so many fewer times lately) I fully resonate with the tone of the poem. It captures the consciousness and energy required of this particular postural accomplishment! No wonder it needed to be itself!!

I love the connection you described to Hanuman! The story about him where his heart is reawakened by hearing the singing to Lord Rama reminds me of the way hearing chants has called me back to remembering the power of devotional music. ❤️

I love how you gave yourself time and revision for this poem. Can only imagine the other drafts. What was cut and what kept being carried through. Writing... and life ...is such a process, right? All of your poems are Soaring. Searing. Steering.

I love how you open the experience way beyond the physical, without discarding the physical body. I felt your process. My asana practice has become extremely gentle in the last few years; one could say where I used to add meditation to my movement practice, I now offer gentle stretching within my meditation practice. This felt like that balance. I love standing splits and never much cared how deeply my body entered the shape, rather how the shape informed my breath. And we're back to the wind! What a beautiful piece! Thank you for the many creative thresholds you offer for us to walk through!

Thank you, Corie. You approach your writing and yoga practices with equal dedication and grace. I admire your discipline and vision. P.S. I have a scar on my chin, too.
