BODYLOVE POETRY WRITING WORKSHOP
Poetic conversations with body parts you’ve never imagined had something to say.
In this 8-week somatic based poetry workshop, we will be reading and writing poems that focus on our connection with our bodies.
We will:
read work by our poet foremothers
Sharon Olds
Lucille Clifton
Maya Angelou
Naomi Shihab Nye
Ellen Bass
and emerging our sister poets
Kara Jackson
Desiree Dallagiacomo
We will focus on poetry about our
hands
hips
breasts
skin
stomach
thighs
menstruation cycle and
radical self-love
We will:
examine poems as something built
have conscious conversations about our relationship with our own bodies
write intimate poems where we re-connect to our bodies, part by part and let them “speak.”
We will
share our writing in a safe and supportive community
Give yourself the gift of rewriting your relationship with your body and transforming your self image.

Some words from past participants—
“Corie has a certain calming energy about her. Her wisdom and love just spills from her spoken and written words. During her poetry workshop, I wrote my way to a deeper understanding of both myself and the world around me. Corie's unique ability to create a safe space that encourages you to open up and be vulnerable is priceless.”
— Leanne Mercure, author of Get Your Sh*t Together
Corie Feiner’s Poetry workshop was fantastic. I learned about myself, connected with the other participants, celebrated my body through poetry, and grew in my acceptance of my body. Corie is patient, skilled, inspiring, talented, kind, and 100% present as a teacher and poet. If you have a chance to take this workshop, do it!
