Permission to naval gaze
a poem written upon gazing at my belly button & connecting to the divine

It is easy to get caught up in day to day life and habitual worries that are born from fears of falling short, missing out, or helplessness.
It is also easy to go on automatic pilot of who we think we are and how we think we should be.
The chatter of the mind can be as simple as a to do list or as big as the collective worry of what will happen next.
But today? I say take a few moments to drop the show of pretending everything is alright or to drop the show of thinking everything is all wrong.
Practice pretending you have amnesia and for a moment, you have no history. You don’t have to do anything, be anything, or think anything.
I encourage you to take some time to connect with yourself and the source of your being, and maybe, even, practice the art of navel gazing.
