"Haven't we all stood like this at the precipice / of who we are and who we want to be?" - from "Getting Unstuck" by Corie Feiner
Hello Dear Supporters!
As a gift to you all, I am going to step out of the yoga poem sphere and share a poem with you about getting unstuck.
At some point or another, we have all gotten stuck on something… a decision, a repair, an old habit we play out again and again.
And other times in life, we have taken a leap and, as Susan Jeffers said, we decided to “feel the fear and do it anyway.”
This poem, “Getting Unstuck” centers on the narrative of a time I went to an old gorge with a bunch of guys from college who were experienced hikers and mountain climbers. I showed up in combat boots and a trench coat not knowing what to do. (I can hear my mother sighing now:)
But there was something in me that wanted to do it — to hike, to jump, to rappel from a bridge and push myself past my comfort zone, past my fears… and get unstuck.
I hope you enjoy the poem.
