Thank you for being super supporters and for listening to my poems. I humbly bow to you all!
And here is the text of the poem, again, in case you want to read along, read it aloud, or share it with a friend.
Lion Pose
I kneel to my knees, spread my paws, open my jaws wide, stick out my sharp tongue, roll my eyes towards my brow as if I was an ancient god gone mad— and then let out a breath that would scare any predator out of their skin. I release the tightness from every muscle in my body, open my throat and roar and roar until I give myself permission to say all that I am scared to say and all that I am scared to feel until it seems like every bit of breath has left my body. I roll back onto the grassy plain of my floor and lick my paws with complete satisfaction as if I will never be hungry again. -- By Corie Feiner
