This will be a great opportunity to get a sample of the Bodylove Poetry Writing Workshop and get a sense of what it would feel like to be a part of our 4-week somatic writing journey where you will practice gentle self-acceptance and unleash the intelligence of your body through the power of poetry and community support.
In our sample workshop, you will read a poem about the skin by Harryette Mullen, discuss the impact the poem has on you, explore the tools used to create the poem, practice somatic exercises to deepen your connection with your skin, write an original poem to explore and release the stories your skin holds, and share your words in a safe and supportive space.
We still have some room for you to sign up for our free sample workshop happening this Sunday, April 28th HERE, or read more about my 4-week program below.
With Love & Gratitude,
Corie
Many of us have been taught to ignore our bodies, over-identify with our bodies, or to treat our bodies as servants to our whims.
But the body is the subconscious mind. The body speaks. The more we listen, the more we can learn to radically love and accept every part of our beings and activate our innate abilities to heal and direct the story of our lives.
Poetry is part of all of our programming. We are made to respond to rhythms and rhymes. This is what makes writing poetry stand out from other art forms as one of not just expression, but healing. It is what we turn to in times of mourning, loneliness, and celebration. It can be a whisper, a moan, scream a or a song. In this workshop, you will make it yours as you learn solid craft tools to write poems that contain your words like a vase holds water as you reclaim parts of your body that have been longing to speak.
“Poetry is not only dream and vision; it is the skeleton architecture of our lives. It lays the foundations for a future of change, a bridge across our fears of what has never been before.“
~ Audre Lorde
