Eagle Pose

Hello yogis, poets, and seekers of inspiration!
I was twelve years old the first time I saw an eagle in the wild. It was 1984 and my family had recently moved from Greenwich Village to Palo Alto and everything in my life was new, exciting, scary, and completely unsettling. I crooked my neck to watch the eagle soar above me in the foggy foothill mountain sky. She had no idea that I was there watching her glide through the sky with what seemed like such grace and ease. I admired that she seemed to be in her element and to understand how to operate in this world. I admired her strength and beauty and for a moment, I felt connected to her and to all possibility that whatever I was going through was temporary and that somewhere inside of me, I had the strength to endure.
