The next poem in my manuscript, A Poem for Every Pose, is about Boat Pose–
The boat as a metaphor shows up in mythologies all around the world from the ferryman who brings us across the river from life to death and back again to the ark that was built to save some decent human beings and animals as the world was flooded.
What I love the most about Boat Pose is the actual embodiment of the boat in my arms, legs, back and core. When I first tried variations of this pose, I was like a young child who thought it would be easy, but as I attempted to make my body into a V, I shook,teeter-tottered,and fell….some days I still do.
Back in 2020, when I was challenged to participate in a Deepack Chopra 21-day abundance meditation, one of the mantras on about day 6 or 7 was, “The core of my being is the ultimate reality.” This one hit me …
