A poem for Wind-Relieving Pose
lightening up and laughing a little at the comedy of being embodied
Can you use a laugh?
I recently came across Hasya Yoga - otherwise known as Laughter Yoga and it is really… fun! It asks us to use breath, smiling and laughter as a tool to help our bodies feel physically and then mentally lighter… more in the direction of joy, which can help our minds get out of their funk and help us deal with the inevitable stuff of life when it gets… life-y.
This week I chose to share my poem for Wind-Relieving Pose because I needed a laugh and I had a hunch that maybe you needed it too.
If you are reading this, you have a body —-
and sometimes bodies feel fabulous and fit
and sometimes they hurt
and sometimes they heal
and sometimes they make really silly sounds
(and sometimes they smell, but I won’t go there:)
And even though I understand the seriousness of being backed up or how one fart can mean that a serious surgery went well, in my house, with two boys, farts are the butt of way too many jokes. (Pun intended:)
