A Poem for Waterfall Pose

For the first time in my life, I have found a position that I can stay in comfortably for long periods of time.
Within minutes of practicing Waterfall Pose, I feel a sense of peace and surrender rush through my entire body. My scoliosis-curved spine sinks into ease, my blood flows into my hands and heart, and when I am done I genuinely feel energized, renewed, and refreshed.
Waterfall Pose is now the home of my meditation practice and soothes my nervous system so much that I shared it with my teenage son. He is not “into” yoga, but liked the idea of an accessible and potentially restorative pose. He even let me read him my poem.
