A Poem for Tiger Pose
"...there is a strength lying dormant in all of us just waiting to awaken and go wild and pounce." -- from Tiger Pose, by Corie Feiner
Did you ever pretend to be an animal when you were a child? A dog, a cat, a horse, or even a tiger?
When my son was small he would wake up in the morning and say, You know who I are today?
And he would wait for my husband and I to guess. He would not even hint. He would just giggle and giggle until we finally figured it out. Or turned red.
I remember one morning, he answered, as if it was obvious, Today, I are a butterfly.
I then spent the whole day dressing a butterfly, feeding a butterfly, and flapping my wings with him down the street.
Today, as I share the poem, "Tiger Pose, I encourage you to embody a tiger. Perhaps not in the same way you did as a kid— growling, roaring, and chuffing all day, but in the way that you embody just a little more courage, focus, and strength And if a roar or two gets you going, go right ahead.
