A Poem for Nectar of the Moon Pose

Over twenty years ago, a shaman showed up in my life and took me with her on her spiritual journeys where I saw that although I had been seeking love most of my life from scads of boyfriends and lovers, that I had not ever fully loved them. I was using them to give me the love I did not have for myself. This love is the essence of the moon. Motherly, tender, giving, accepting. Flawed, soft, and beautiful.
If you find yourself unable to “find” love, I say, as a woman who has embraced the archetype of the mother, to check and make sure you are allowing yourself to receive love fully with integrity, vulnerability, and safety. Often, it can start with a simple, “thank you” to yourself for the small things… and then the rest of the journey, if you have the intention to do so, is yours
